During washout, solvent is absorbed by the photopolymer plate, making it swollen and soft. The plate dryer evaporates the solvent so that the plate returns to a stable thickness and hardness before mounting and printing.<\/p>\n
Under-drying leaves the plate at the wrong thickness and prints unevenly; overheating makes the plate brittle and cracked. A dryer with stable temperature and controlled drying time is therefore required.<\/p>\n
The machine is a drawer-type dryer with 4 \u2013 6 drawers, each heated and temperature-controlled independently by a PID controller. Fans circulate hot air at 40 \u2013 70 \u00b0C, giving even heat across the whole plate surface. Plate sizes up to 1320 \u00d7 2032 mm.<\/p>\n
