TUNGSTEN CARBIDE CORRUGATING ROLL
Advantages:
1. Hardness and wear resistance second only to diamond.
Service life is 3–5 times that of chrome-plated corrugating rolls.
Roll change time and cost are reduced by about 65–80% (including downtime and changeover cost).
The rolls can be reconditioned several times (instead of being replaced).
Lower cost per square metre of corrugated board.
Avoids wear of related parts caused by hollow wear of the rolls.
2. Consistent corrugated board quality
With excellent wear resistance, the loss of flute height is only 0.06–0.08 mm over each service period. The flute profile does not deform and glue consumption does not rise as the flute tips wear. This minimises waste in board production and ensures uniform board quality.
3. Lower raw material cost of corrugated board
Thanks to its very high wear resistance, tungsten carbide minimises loss of flute height, reducing paper consumption by more than 1% compared with chrome rolls.
Less wear of the flute profile can reduce consumption costs by 20–50%, while keeping the glue line thickness even.
Avoids the quality limits of board made on ordinary rolls and reduces waste by 30–50%.
Technical specifications:
