R106 / R106-D Corrugated Sheet Counting Machine – Camera-based stack counting with on-the-spot labelling
The number of sheets in each stack is the base figure for handover between the corrugator, the sheet warehouse and the printing, die cutting and gluing sections. Counting by hand or estimating by stack height is often inaccurate, which leads to short deliveries, surplus sheet stock and disputes over figures between shifts. The R106 / R106-D corrugated sheet counting machine uses a camera to capture the edge of the stack, counts the sheets in a few seconds and prints a label with the result to stick on the stack right away.
Machine overview
The R106 is a mobile, upright corrugated sheet counter on castors that is moved to each stack. It consists of a camera module running on a vertical slide rail, a 12.1-inch touch screen, a label printer, a wireless barcode scanner and an electrical control cabinet. The camera scans along the edge of the stack (flute side facing the camera), and the software identifies each corrugated layer and gives the sheet count.
The series has two models: the R106 runs on mains power, and the R106-D adds a 1280 Wh lithium battery for locations where a power cable is not practical.
Main functions
- Accurately counts the number of corrugated sheets in each stack.
- Counts A, B, C and E flutes (not applicable to F flute) and multi-wall boards such as double wall and triple wall.
- The label printer automatically prints the result after each count so the stack can be labelled immediately.
- The barcode reader takes information from the previous process, such as P.O. number, customer name and sheet size; this information can be printed on the label.
Applications
- Counting sheets at the corrugator delivery, stacking area and sheet warehouse.
- Checking sheet quantity before feeding flexo printers, die cutters and folder gluers.
- Checking sheet quantity before delivery to sheet board customers.
- Labelling stacks for work-in-progress inventory control.
Key technical features
1. Non-contact, image-based counting
- Camera travels on a vertical slide rail; maximum counting height 2300 mm.
- Counting accuracy 99.9%, with each cycle under 6 seconds.
- The software shows the real-time image, flute type, pallet height and count.
2. Simple operator interface
- 12.1-inch touch screen; flute type and label multiplier are selected directly on screen.
- A distance indicator helps the operator position the machine correctly in front of the stack.
- Counting records are logged.
3. Scan – count – label in one operation
- Wireless barcode scanner retrieves the order information.
- Label printer prints the quantity together with the order information right after counting.
4. Mobile on the shop floor
- Body on castors, stainless steel housing, weight 110 kg.
- The R106-D has dual power: mains supply and a 1280 Wh lithium battery.
- Operates at -10°C to 40°C and 30% to 95% humidity.
Practical benefits for the plant
- Accurate sheet figures: fewer shortages and surpluses between processes and at delivery.
- Time saved on counting: a few seconds per stack instead of manual counting.
- Traceability by order: each stack carries a label with quantity and order information.
- Less dependence on the person counting: results do not vary by shift or operator.
Suitable customers
- Plants with a corrugator and high sheet output.
- Sheet feeder plants selling sheet board to box converters.
- Box converters that need to check incoming sheet quantities.

Conclusion
The R106 / R106-D corrugated sheet counting machine turns sheet counting from estimation into measured figures, with an identification label on every stack. Choose the R106 for fixed positions with a power supply, and the R106-D when the machine has to move frequently around the plant and warehouse.
