Automatic flexo plate washer – solvent washout with large-format rotary brushes

After exposure, the uncured photopolymer on the flexo plate must be washed out to form the printing relief. Uneven washout gives inconsistent relief depth, loss of fine details or a swollen plate.

The automatic plate washer washes plates in solvent with oscillating rotary brushes and controls solvent temperature and washout speed, giving consistent plates from one job to the next.

Machine overview

The plate passes through an oscillating rotary brush section in temperature-controlled solvent. A filtration system retains polymer residue and keeps the solvent clean for longer. Plate sizes up to 1320 × 2032 mm (5280 format), washout speed 30 – 50 mm/min.
