Flexo plate dryer – drawer type with independent heating

During washout, solvent is absorbed by the photopolymer plate, making it swollen and soft. The plate dryer evaporates the solvent so that the plate returns to a stable thickness and hardness before mounting and printing.

Under-drying leaves the plate at the wrong thickness and prints unevenly; overheating makes the plate brittle and cracked. A dryer with stable temperature and controlled drying time is therefore required.

Machine overview

The machine is a drawer-type dryer with 4 – 6 drawers, each heated and temperature-controlled independently by a PID controller. Fans circulate hot air at 40 – 70 °C, giving even heat across the whole plate surface. Plate sizes up to 1320 × 2032 mm.
