Relocation and Re-installation Service for Packaging Machinery and Production Lines

Moving to a new building, expanding a plant or rearranging the floor all involve relocating machinery. Packaging equipment is heavy, built from precisely joined sections and fitted with complex electrical and control systems, so the risks lie in dismantling, lifting, transport and, above all, re-alignment after assembly. PTS Industries Co., Ltd. provides relocation and re-installation services carried out by the same technical team that installs packaging machinery.

Scope of service

  • Dismantling machines and lines into sections.
  • Lifting and transport to the new location.
  • Fast and safe re-installation and alignment.
  • Test run and handover back to production.

Equipment relocated by PTS includes flexo printers, automatic die cutters and flute laminators, together with other converting and auxiliary machines in packaging plants.

Relocation steps

1. Survey and method statement

The machine is surveyed at its current position and the new site is checked: access, floor load capacity, building height, power and compressed air. A plan is prepared covering dismantling, lifting equipment, transport sequence and schedule.

2. Condition record and marking

Machine condition is recorded before dismantling, and joints, cable ends and pipework are marked so that re-assembly is accurate and there is a reference for acceptance.

3. Dismantling and protection

The machine is dismantled by section; moving parts are secured and precision components, electrical cabinets and control devices are protected before transport.

4. Lifting and transport

Cranes, forklifts and trucks are selected to suit the size and weight of each section; loads are secured and technically supervised throughout.

5. Re-installation and alignment

The machine is positioned according to the new layout, sections are joined, levelled and aligned, and electrical, pneumatic and control systems are reconnected.

6. Test run and handover

No-load and production test runs are carried out, the machine is adjusted until it meets requirements and it is handed over to production.

Combining maintenance and repair with the move

During a relocation the machine is already dismantled, which makes it easy to inspect assemblies that are hard to reach in normal conditions. Customers can combine maintenance, repair or upgrading with the move to avoid another shutdown. If the new building needs a new floor plan, PTS can provide layout planning before the relocation.

Why PTS

  • The relocation crew is the same team that installs packaging machinery: it knows the machine design, which sections can be dismantled and which should stay assembled.
  • More than 15 years of experience in packaging machinery and production technology; more than 150 automatic die cutters installed and maintained, and more than 50 flexo printers and more than 50 automatic folder gluers installed and under PTS care.
  • Multi-skilled team (electrical, mechanical, automation) with a full set of tools and equipment.
